Values et philosophy of Lys Breeding
What are our convictions, our way of breeding and the principles that we have put forward in our breeding since 1982?
Our basic mare Ghikampur, very chic and distinguished, was already a girl de purebred.
For many years we have traveled all over Normandy, to attend breeding competitions and stallion expertise. It was during one of these expertise in Saint-Lô that we discoveredComing from Theil.
This son ofStarter, appeared to us as an exceptional horse, with a very beautiful forehand, very good locomotion and a lot of distinction.
He was a real father, he corresponded perfectly to the image we had of a stallion. This is how we had it imported into Belgium.
We crossed Venu du Theil with our basic mare. De this cross was born Prunelle du Lys, the mother of Gribouille du Lys.
stripping
This begins from the birth of the foal until he accepts the rider. It is by handling him that the breeder creates a bond with his foal, by putting a halter on him, by teaching him to be attached and to walk beside the man while respecting him.
All our foals, from an early age, are used to riding in a truck accompanied by their mother. Then after weaning, we load them regularly so that transport is no longer a source of stress and danger.
We do all this learning ourselves, including stripping. By dint of handling them, they know us and respect us. Stripping takes place during the winter of their 3 years, this one finished the horses are given to pre until November.
Horse training and competitions

To be able to keep our horses in training with us, until they are marketed, we have invested in quality infrastructure and soils.
For us, competitions are not synonymous with competitions but with learning. It doesn't matter the result or the time, only the way is important.
The objectives of l'Elevage du Lys
The commercial purpose is inevitable but not our main objective. We first breed horses for our pleasure. These horses must have chic, distinction, a sense of obstacle, respect for the bar, balance and an eye clever. These are the horses we love.
It is with this working method, which is ours, that we have met with the success that we know.
